ANWICK, St Edith
There is a wide range of graffito types in this church. Some of the more common types found in churches are found here including: ‘double-V’ (a Marion symbol), circles, daisywheels, mason marks, initials and dates. More unusual graffiti include the concentric diamonds; ships, one probably is a North Sea cog early C15th); several unknown shapes including some that appear to be ‘window’ motifs; and one graffito that may be a priest/bishop in cloak.
