Benington Church, 'The Beonna'

Date recorded:            4 March 2014 et al

Recorded by:              B Porter and 'Beonna' Volunteers

Photos taken:              163

This redundant church had the graffiti recorded before it was converted into a community facility as part of the Beonna project. It contains a good variety of graffiti, with noteworthy examples including: 5-petalled flower-like motif; ‘Double-V’ symbols; a spiral; many compass-drawn graffiti including daisywheels; mason marks; pentagram; reversed letters and other symbols.

Featured are: Christs monogram (ihs) and a complex design perhaps a merchant's mark?
